Hobie Outback kayaks with the 2019+ hull design have a known issue with cracks developing in the rear seat post area. These Hobie Outback Rear Seat Support Plates with 1.75” Rise - Universal distribute the forces of the seat across a much larger surface area that should eliminate the chance of the hull cracking around the seat riser groove.

Please be aware that these plates are meant to be used with risers on the front of the seat like the SAI Outback Riser kit but can also be used without a riser kit! 

The difference between this set of plates and the SAI only plates, is that these plates can be used with Front Seat Risers (rear feet extended) and they will function as regular seat plates when no Front Seat Riser is installed (in the low position only, no extended rear feet)

If your Hobie Outback is unmodified and you do not intend to add a riser kit, have a look at the regular Rear Seat Support Plates. 

The plates are 3D printed in solid PETG and slide over the hull and seat post. They are secured to the hull using stainless steel bolts that screw into already existing threaded holes. Installation is very easy and should take no longer than 5 minutes - Just remove the seat, place support plates over the hull and tighten the bolt using an 1/8" Allen (hex) wrench. 

Please be aware that all Hobie Outback hulls vary to a certain extent and might also deform over time. While we have test fitted the plates to over a dozen different hulls from different years of production, some small inconsistencies in the fit, especially around the cross-bar section, are possible. A small gap will not interfere with the function of the support plates.
